A sensuous Bengali bombshell is what you can call the 26 year old Rimi Sen. She has given numerous hits and within a span of just 4 years, has cemented her position in the Bollywood film industry.
Rimi was born in Kolkata on 21st September, 1981. she studied in Kolkata but eventually she moved to Mumbai and began doing ads. She was first noticed by director Priyadarshan in a “Coca Cola” ad. He then gave her a chance in the film, “Hungama” opposite Akshaye Khanna and Aftab Shivdasani.
Then came “Baghban”, where Rimi has played the role of Amitabh and Hema Malini’s grand daughter. Since then she has been featured in various films all of which have been successful at the box office. Thus, Rimi is nicknamed “Bollywood’s Lucky Mascot”
She has done small but meaningful roles in a no. of hits like “Deewane Hue Paagal”, “Kyun Ki”, “Phir Hera Pheri”, “Golmaal”, “Dhoom” and “Dhoom 2”. She even shedded 8 kilos for her role as Sweety in “Dhoom”. Her latest release, “Dhoomn 2” was also a superhit, though her presence in the film was again limited.
The 5’5” slim amd sexy Rimi is a professional to the core. With no names or affairs attached to her, she believes in pure hard work. She has done away with her surname lately and has decided to go by the screen name “Rimii” instead of Rimi. She prefers keeping a low profile and wants her work to speak for itself.
Her latest flick “Hattrick” did not exactly impress the viewers but it was a good blend of comedy and emotions. Rimi’s role as Kashmira in the film is quite laudible. Having played a variety of roles, Rimi looks forward to playing an avenging angel one day like Urmila in “Ek Hasina Thi” or Madhuri in “Mrityudand” or even Rani Mukherjee in “Black”. We hope to see more of Rimi soon.
